ALBERTA FARMERS’ PROPOSAL NO SUPPORT BY LIBERALS OTTAWA, June 16. Mr Mackenzie King said in the House to-day that he found it impossible to support the united farmers of Alberta in the Budget sub-amendment which, among other things, recommends Canada to depart from the gold standard. WHEAT CROP GUARANTEES ATTITUDE OF THE BANKS WINNIPEG, June 16. The liabilities of the Prairo Governments on the 1929 wheat crop guarantees will total twenty-five million dol lars, but the method of repayment to meet the indebtedness has not yet been decided upon. It is stated that Premier Bracken of Manitoba will return from the East to day. (During his absence ho conferred with representatives of the lending banks. The banks, it is stated, have served notice that they want to be paid in cash, or negotiable securities which they can convert into cash.
