FRONTIER GANDHI
KHAN GAFFAR’S SPEECH. DESPERATE FIGHT COMING. CALCUTTA, June 16. A violent speech was made at Ah medabad by Khan Gaffar, who is known as “the frontier Gandhi.” He said that 100,000 Pathans were ready on the North-West Frontier to help India to drive the British from the country. He declared that the next fight would be more desperate than the last, and was bound to come. Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru, Indian Congress leader, also made an inflammatory speech at Poona. He urged the Indians to waste no time on the merits of the agreement concluded between Lord Irwin and Mr Gandhi, and advised preparation in the event of war.
