WOOL MARKETING
AUSTRALIAN PRODUCERS REGULATION OF OFFERINGS Received June 16, 1 a.m. MELBOURNE, June 15. Preparation for the Empire Wool Conference beginning next week, are now being made by the Australian Woolgrowers’ Council, which opened its annual convention to-day. The council unhesitatingly reaffirmed its decision to oppose any plan for fixing wool prices, and further decided that the council keep in touch with the London market in an endeavour to arrange allocations in such a manner that large quantities of wool will not be offered in London and Australia simultaneously. It was resolved to try to obtain a substantial reduction in freights, also to wait upon the Prime Minister in order to get relief from the high costs of production by lowering the tariff and taxation.
