DIAMOND JUBILEE PROGRAMME DECIDED There was a large meeting in Patea last night, presided over by the Mayor, Mr F. Ramsbottom, whi‘eh decided that Patea should celebrate its Diamond Jubilee as a borough, this actually falling on October 13. The meeting was fully representative of spoits bodies, professional and business interests. The programme is: Tuesday, October 13, 10 a.m., Jubilee meeting and civic reception; 2 p.m., Maori gathering and display; 7 p.m., jubilee dinner to ex-Mayors and Councillors. Wednesday, October 14: 2 p.m., sports gathering; 8 p.m., jubilee ball. Thursday, October 15: 10 a.m., old identities’ re-union; 2 p.m., public procession and "Old Buffers” football match. Friday. O-tobor 16: 2 p.m., children’s sports gathering; 7 p.m., children’s fancy dresg carnival. Saturday, October 17: 8 p.m., jubilee smoke concert. Sunday, October 18: 2.30 p.m., band concert in Hospital grounds; 7 p.m.. commemoration services in all churches.
