MANGAWEKA

COMBINED BALL The combined Bowling and Croquet Club Ball took place in the Oddfellows ' Hall on Friday evening last. There was a very large number of people present and the ball proved to be the most successful function of its kind this season. During the evening the president of the Bowling Club, Mr S. Dickinson, con gratulated the clubs on their very successful gathering. Special thanks were due to the ladies’ committee, who were responsible for the splendid decorations anu supper arrangements. RIFLE CLUB The Mangawcka Defence Rifle Club held an invitation shoot against a team from the Wairakei Club on the local Tange during the week-end. After a very keen shoot the visitors proved victorious by a margin of 56 points. The scores were as follows:
