FIRST ORANGE MAN
It was suggested in England recently that a statue should be erected to the man who first introduced the orange into Great Japan, it was pointed out, has already a statue to its first orange man. And Japan is not the only country that has acknowledged additions to the national bill ot faro by means of statuary. France has put a statue to Marie Harel, the inventor of Camembert 1 heeso, and Offenburg, in Germany, boasts a statue to Sir Francis Drake — not because he was a great sailor, but, in gratitude for bringing the potato from the New World to the Old. Credit for this deed has often been given to Sir Walter Raleigh.
