HIGH COMMISSIONER’S ADVICE The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 13th inst. from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— Tallow. —Fair demand at auction; 811 casks offered, 267 sold at 6d decline during this week, nd Is 6d on last auction. Present quotations for spot are: —Mutton: Fine 225, fair to good 18s Gd to 21s, dark ' dull 15s 6d to 16s 6d. Beef: Sweet and/or mixed 22s to 235, fair to good 16s Gd to 19s, dark to dull 15s to 16s. Mixed: Fair to good 16s 6d to 18s Gd. dark to dull 15s to 16s. Gut, etc. 14s to 15s 6d. Hemp.—Manila market quiet but firm. “K” grade June/August shipment value £l7, August/October shipment sold at £l7 10s. Sisal: Market quiet but steady. No. 1 fair average quality June/'ugust shipment value £l5 10s; No. 2, £l4 10s; good marks 5s more. New Zealand: Market very quiet w’t'h little more offering. Nominal value is on the basis of fair £lB 10s June/August shipment. No first hand sales reported. Friut: Market remains firm, but is likely to be affected by soft fruits during next two weeks. ‘'Tamaroa” shipment selling at present. Curre.*; prices are: Apples: Jonathan.
