“LAUGH THAT OFF”

WELCOME WEEK COMEDY One of the bright attractions for Wanganui’s Welcome Week will be the presentation of the successful three-act comedy, 4 ‘Laugh That Off,” at the Opera House on Monday and Tuesday of next week. The play has been obtained from J. C. Williamson, Ltd., under whose management it was successfully presented in Australia and New Zealand recently, but as Wanganui was ' not included in the itinerary, local playI goers will welcome this opportunity of witnessing the clever comedy, a very strong cast of Wanganui’s most popular players has been selected, including Miss Evelyn Wright, Miss Leigh Swan, Mrs G. Darby shire, Messrs J. Pawson, “Bob” Howell, H. Mean, and Paul Latham, th,? latter also acting as producer. Although the play is literally filled with laughs, the author, Don Mullally. has interwoven a particularly charming love story*—in fact, three of them—and it is safe to predict that “Laugh That Off” will rank among the brightest of the many successes that have been registered by the Wanganui Amateur Society. The plans for reserved seats open at H. I. Jones and Sons on Wednesday morning. The proceeds arc in aid of the Mayor’s Local Relief Fund.
