NEW FRENCH PRESIDENT
M. DOUMER TAKES OFFICE SECOND NAVAL CABINET [By Telegraph—Press Ascociation—Copyright] Received June 12, 11.45 p.m. PARIS, Juno 14. The new President, M. Doumer, took office. The occasion was parked by a simple ceremony at the Elysee, where the retiring President, M. Doumergue, awaited him. M. Doumer placed across his chest the broad red sash of the Grandmaster of the Legion of Honour, which is the only outward sign of office borne by the President. M. Laval formally tendered the Government’s resignation, which was accepted with a request to continue in office, thus inaugurating the second Laval Cabinet, which observers are of opinion will survive the vicissitudes until the recess, thus ensuring stability until November.
