CAUSE OF DEATH UNKNOWN EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST [ Per Press Association. ) AUCKLAND, June 12. <‘ I think every possible inquiry has been made, but there is not sufficient evidence to show what the cause of death was,” said Mr Hunt, S.M., coroner, at the adjourned inquest concerning the death of Mary lian Evett Maude, aged 53, whose body was found in thick scrub on the cliff over Long Bay on May 17. Evidence was given that when deceased left her home in Mount Eden on August 23, 1930, there was nothing unusual in her manner. She had been in poor health for two years preceding her disapperance, and at times she had complained of palpitation of the heart and shortage of breath. She was in comfortable financial clrcumstanc i. She knew the locality where her body was found, as she had stayed at a realtive’s summer residence in the Brown’s Bay district. Two doctors said that when found th 3 body had been exposed to the weather for some months. A post mortem examination did not reveal any signs of violence, and the witnesses were unable to form an opinion is to the cause of death.
