INTER-CLUB MATCH CASTLECLIFF VISITORS. I PLAY AT MAXWELL LINKS. j An enjoyable inter-club match was played at the Maxwell links on Thursday between members of the Custlecliff and Maxwell Clubs, the result being a win for the visitors by one game, while one game was halved. At the close of play Mr Woods, on behalf of Castlccliff, and Mr Blair, for Maxwell, spoko of tho enjoyable afternoon spent, especially referring to the hospitality of the ladies, who attended to the afternoon tea. In tho women’s golf championship fourth round, Miss Gourlay boat Miss Pirn, 3 and 2; Miss Wilson beat Miss Corlett 5 and 4. Semi-finals.—Miss Morgan beat Miss Gourlay by one hole; Miss Wilson beat Mrs Greenlees, 2 and 1. The finalists are each 21 years of age. Miss Morgan is the daughter of a Kentish artist. Miss Wilson is the daughter of a Manchester doctor. She has not previously won the British title, although she has secured almost, every other honour possible. She has been thrice semi-finalist in the past four years. Miss Morgan is computing for the second time. She was frustrated in her attempt to win the championship when she was bunkered at a critical hole.
