HERE IS "SCARLET BEGONIA"

Deai' Wendy, You will think I am lazy, dear Wendy, but I am away at school this year. Seeing 1 am home this week-end I am settling down to write to you. We all went up to the bush this afternoon for a bundle of ferns and bush shrubs for mother to decorate the vases with. “Cornflowers" and J love to spend a short while in the bush. We have our grandmother staying with us at the present time. Yesterday I went down to Marton and had four teeth filled. 1 had to have the nerve taken out of one of my teeth. It is very nice to come home to everybody, especially the wee girl, Lois, who is just a dear. She is two years old. Mum and dad are now giving us some music. Dad plays the cornet and mother the piano. It is lovely listening to music' I think. 1 love music at any time. Oh. the hail, rain and snow we had here on Thursday! You should have heard the hail bouncing on the roof of the house where I was staying. On Friday morning the hail was banked up on ihe window sills and even when evening fell the hail was lying in the gullies not melted. We had a very severe frost here last night. AH the'pools were frozen over this morning. We have visitors here to-day, and it is such a beautiful day. too. Mother went away for the May holidays and left me to be housekeeper. I really did think you had forgotten all i-bout us. It is nice to walk in the bush, hn’t it ’ Everything seems always so f resh anil peaceful. Music is wonderful. I, too, love it, for it has the power to make us happy when we arc sad. We had a slight, fall of hail here also. The weather haw Iteen cold hasn’t it? What a busy time you must havts had as housekeeper.—Wendy.
