"MICKEY THE MOUSE" HEARS SOME WHISPERS
Dear Wendy, What a pleasant surprise 1 received on finding my name on the Honours Board last week, with three marks. Wendy dear, you are too generous to such a truant Ite as I have been. but. I thank you very much for those marks, and I am going to do my best to win some more. I am glad the Weather Clerk was kind on the King's Birthday and gave uh a beautiful day, because I have heard whispers of a Wendy picnic at Fordell and I believe one of the Ites from there is going to bring a car all the way up here to get some of us. Now, isn’t that lovely? Wendy. I am sure you must be proud of the jolly spirit that exists among your merry band of Ites. Let us hope that the picnic, at Fordell proves to be as enjoyable as ours was, but that the. Weather Clerk is much kinder than he was to us. I wonder which Ite will win “Madame X.’s” prize? If will he quite exciting to see the results. 1 hope it will be one of our Ites. say “Queen of Hearts" or “Pixie” or "Otara Maiden.” T know they are all good al compositions, because 1 have often heard them discussing the merit marks they have received at school. Well, I expect we will soon know who the lucky person will be. I must hurry now, or I will mise the mail, so good-bye for now. Wendy. Love.—From "MICKEY THE MOUSE,” Wendytown. A pleasant surprise for me. too, dear, to receive a letter from you twice running. I hope you will soon gain one of Sir Ernest Endeavour’s Orders of Merit. I am indeed proud of the spirit which exists among members of my band. I do hope some of you Wendytown Ites will be able to attend the picnic here. It will he exciting to see who has won “Madam X.’s” prizes.—Wendy.
