KELLOGG CO.’S ANNIVERSARY

QUARTER CENTURY MARK REACHED. Twenty-five years last April the first box of Kellogg’s Corn 1 lakes was manufactured. And now, a quarter of a century later, twelve and a-half million people will breakfast upon Corn Finkes daily, while thousands of others will choose from among other Kellogg products, All-Bran, Rice Krispics, Pep, Krumbles, and Whole Wheat Biscuits. On thousands of tables will steam fragran' cups of Kellogg’s Kaffee Hag. Sime the day in 1906 when a new and unknown food was first turned out in a small wooden factory building on Bartlett Street, the - amo and products of W. K. Kellogg have become known throughout the world. From a few cases of Corn Flakes a day, production has grown to more than a million and a-half packages daily. Disastrous Fire in 1907. On July 4, ,1907, the old Bartlett Street factory was destroyed by fire. This day is remembered by Mr Kellogg as the most discouraging in the com pany’s history. But he decided to persevere, and immediately purchased a large tract of land known as the Burgess farm, where he built the first fireproof factory building in Battle Creek. Nine months after the fire, the factory was again in operation, turning out more than ever before. In addition to the Battle Creek plant, there are now plants in London, Ontario, and Sydney, Australia.
