BIRTHDAY HONOURS
Sir,—-1 notice in the paper that, at the request of the ‘‘Welcome Week” Committee, the Wanganui Educa’ion Board has decided lo grant Wanganui •city schools a half-holiday on June 25. Has Wanganui entirely overlooked the fact that June 23 is the Prince of Wales’ birthday? Couldn’t the halfholiday be held on that day? Or is England so unimportant a place that it must be crowded out entirely? If the Prime Minister behaves like an ass it isn’t anybody clse’s fault. Thanking you for your space, yotys, etc., ENGLAND IN N.Z.
