WORK OF RECONDITIONING (Per Press Association.) NAPIER, Alay 13. A start will be made next week on the reconditioning of that portion oi the East Coast railway from Napier lu Putorino taken over by the Railway Department some months ago. I’his section suffered considerably as a result of tho earthquake, lae bncs being l.adly twisted, while sliri and otho’ dlsturbcrces of the groun 1 raised <lhu* ege wf it h, it is believe t. will cost many thousands of pounds to remedy. The absence of the service has been keenly felt by the settlers on the line, and its restoration will be much appreciated.
