It be- : comes all the rage. Such another pic- : ture is “Tho Great Meadow,” which opens at the Majestic Theatre to-day. ' Its love story is true love. Its romance is real. Its characters are just what our forefathers must have been. Above ‘ all, it is intensely human and convinc- . ing—and it certainly is thrilling. The story is refreshingly full of interest, starting in Virginia wsen that State . was young, and ending in tho founda- , tion of Kentucky, where “Nature has ( heaped its blessings on the hind.” The ( spectator sees a pretty love maten . early between Eleanor Boardman and John Mack Brown, Gavin Gordon (who appeared with Greta Garbo in “Romance”), being the disconsolate lover who is rejected. With tho decision the hero makes to lead a small band ot pioneers from this district to settlement in Kentucky, tho wedding is hastened, and there are many touching scenes when, after this happy event, the intrepid party sets out on its dangerous and arduous march with packhorses for distant Kentucky, descriptions of which have fired the imagination and ambition of every member of tlib brave little band. John Mack Brown, Eleanor Boardman and Gavin Gordon are splendid, but so is every other member of the cast in this outstanding talkie.
