THE WANGANUI SALE Messrs Levin and Co. report: —A\ c held our monthly sale yesterday before a good attendance of buyers, when we offered 7,000 skins and 700 hides. As compared with our « last sale, woolly skins declined id to |d. Salted skins were on a par with late rates. We quote: Sheepskins.—Half bred to 4£d; fine crossbred, 4d to medium to course crossbred, 3£d to 4|d; short to halt wools, 2(1 to 3*2d; lambs, 2d to 4id; dead and damaged, 2d to 3jd; inferior and badly damaged, id to 2d; pelts. lAd to 21d; damp, salted and green, 6d to 2s 6d. Hides. —Heavy ox hides on a pat with our last sale. Medium and light ox, id lower. All grades of cow, fd to id down. Yearling and calf, id to Id lower. Ox, heavy 59 to 69, to 7gd: ox medium, 50 to 58, 4d to s«d; ox light, 49 and under, 4d to 4Ad; cut. slippy and inferior, 2d to 3d; cow heavy, 531 b and over, 3d to 4d; cow medium, 42 to 521 b, 3d to 4Ad; cow ilght, under 421 b, 3d to 4sd; cut, slippy and inferior, 2d to 4d; yearlings, s<l to 6Jd; calf medium, good to 101 b, 6i to 8d; calf, damaged, 3d to 6LI; bull, stag, etc., Id to I?d. Tallow.—Firm on late rates. Casks, to Ils; tins, to 10s 6d. The next sale will be held on June 10.
