MUDDLE-HEADED MEMBERS BITTER NEWSPAPER ATTACK [By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright] LONDON, May 12. The Daily Express spreads on the front, page a bitter attack on the League of Nations* Union —“a vista of wellmeaning but muddlcd-hcadcd men ana women who believe that they arc serv ing their generation by their refusal to face the reality.” The Express urge* people not to subscribe, to the Union a.* a first step in achieving the British independence of the League, which it alleges France has captured lock, stock and barrel. The paper states that France is determined to remain the dictator of Europe and to hold Germany anil Aus tria in chains, whereas the bulk of Britons are disposed to give Germany a chance of the prosperity necessary to pay the demands of the Allies. “The destiny of Britain must be turned from Europe towards the Dominions, plus a sympathetic understand ing with America.”
