TARIFF REDUCTIONS
BRITISH NEGOTIATIONS WITH OTHER COUNTRIES LONDON. May 12. The president of the Board of Trade (Mr Graham) stated in the Commons to-day that seven countries, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany. Italy, Pol and and Switzerland had indicated their willingness to consider proposals for tariff reductions. With a view to possible opening of negotiations, pro posals on behalf of the British Govern ment have been put forward accord ingly, but detailed negotiations havt not yet started.
