Thompson, chairman, made reference to the loss to-day Wanganui had sustained through the death of Mr T. Gibbs. A motion of sympathy to his relatives was passed, the members standing in silence. It was decided to conduct the six-a-sido tournament for the men this Saturday, commencing at 2 p.m. sharp, Mr M. Thompson to bo in charge. Entries for this tournament must bo in the secretary’s hands by 5 p.m. to-day. Late entries will not be accepted. Ladies fixtures will be ordinary championship matches. The matter of team slips was brought under notice and it was decided that team slips must be handed in complete by the captain of the winning team before 5 p.m. on the Tuesday follow ing the match. Slips may be handed in to any member of the Match Committee on the ground or to the Renown Stores (Avenue). It was also decided that teams failing to comply with this regulation would be liable to the loss of the match, or a fine (maximum ss), which will be payable at the association ’s discretion. Notice was received from the New Zealand Hockey Association stating that there will be, in all probability, an Indian hockey team touring New Zealand next season, and it was decided to write to the New Zealand Hockey Association and make application for a tost match for Wanganui, and if that were not possible, that a match against Wanganui representatives bo granted to the association.
