THE GREATEST INSANITY MR CHARLES CHAPLIN ’S VIEW Received May 12, 1.5 a.m. LONDON, May 11. Mr Charles Chaplin, interviewed by he Daily Express, says that patriotism s the greatest form of insanity from which the world has ever suffered. “People say I have a duty to England/’ he said, “but 17 years ago 1 slaved and starved there for a few’ shillings a week. I have been all over Europe in recent months and patriotism is rampant everywhere, with the result that there is going to be another war. I hope they send the old men to the front next time. The old men are the real criminals in Europe to-day. Europe has misunderstood and bullied me. I am moderately rich and don't care a hang if I ever make another Im. ”
