The cult of the cactus in Poland threatens io outrival that of tho aspidistra in the Victorian era in England, writes a correspondent in Warsaw. Tho florists’ shops display cacti in dozens—of all kinds ami sizes. Now adays, instead of sending a basket ol flowers, one sends tho latest, kind of cactus or a particularly fine specimen, there is hardly a house now without a eastus, and s no houses have a larg< collection. A few days ago at a wedding in Warsaw the bride carried a cactus in stead of the usual bridal bouquet.
