A burst waterpipc during a recent old f*pell cost one of the oldest cstabished tradesmen in Highgate :ir.di sorth London £B5 in banknotes. He »«uaJly banks his takings every aftertoon, but lie had to attend to a. leak in i waterpipe on this occasion, and con- 1 •ealed the money in the bottom of a lisused stove near his desk. Next norning an assistant, anxious to avoid uore pipe freezing, lighted the stove.
