PATEA
SURF CLUB The Patca Beach will once more this season be the sceno of surf team competitions. Three four-man are travelling from Wanganui this week-end, when a competition is to be contested with three teams of the Patea Surf Club. Tho Castlecliff members will arrive in Patea to-night, To-morrow will be devoted wholly to the competitions, which are to be run on tho same lines as those of the William Henry competitions were run recently at Wanganui. The following are the teams representing Patea: —A team. Currie (capt.), P. Bourke (linesman), IL Adams (belt), and T. Close (patient). B team: H. Gunn (capt.), E. Oakley, G. Fraser and F. Willis. C team: H. Moore (capt.), H. Williams, E. Green and a patient. TENNIS A team from Patea will visit Alton to-day, where a match has been arranged between tho two clubs. • SCHOOL At the recent meeting of the Wanganui Education Board, it was decided to build emergency doors in the outside walls of every classroom. These will facilitate the quick exit of pupils from the building in case of earthquake.
