ATLANTIC FLIGHT
ITALIAN AIR ARMADA TWELVE MACHINES ROME, Dec. 14. The greatest formation flight in the history of aviation, will start on Monday when Italy’s air armada, consisting of twelve sea ’planes will take; off from Lake Orbello, where Signor Mussolini has gone for the purpose of farewelling them. They will fly in stages across the Atlantic to Brazil. The machines will fly in groups of three, each being distinguished by coloured markings, General Balbo occupying the leading machine, with Chief of Staff Vallo and the famous Italian ace Maddalena. The actual route will be to Cathagena, thence to Spanish Morocco, Bolama, Portuguese Guinea, from where the scheduled start across the Atlantic will be made on January 5. Seven fast scout ships will be posted en route in the event of a forced descent.
