IMPORTS CUT IN HALF FAVOURABLE BALANCE NOW FIGURES FOR FOUR MONTHS ; By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright.! Received Dec. 4, 10.20 p.m. CANBERRA, Dec. 4. A summary of Australian trade, issued to-day, shows that imports for the first four months of the present financial year declined almost 50 per cent., while the trade balan ; moved from an adverse one in 1929 of almost £lC,oou,000 to a favourable one this year of £4.921,038. Imports for the period stated last year were £50,777,641 worth of goods, while for this year they declined to £27,212,158.
