LATEST BRITISH FIGURES LOW INFANT MORTALITY [British Official Wireless]. RUGBY, Dec. 2. The Registrar-General’s quarterly return issued last night, shows a slightly higher birth rate and a lower death rate than in the corresyonding quarter of last year. The most striking figure however, is that of infant mortality. This death rate was 45 per 1000, which is 14 per 1000 below the average of the ten proceeding quarters and is the lowest ever recorded.
