BERTHING THE MALOLO
WELLINGTON EXPERIENCE “PROMPT AND EFFICIENT” [Per Press Association.J WELLINGTON, Dec. 3. Differing from the version given a day or two ago at Auckland, Mr C. E. Brown’s account of the berthing at Wellington last week of the Matson liner Malolo tells of promptness and efficiency on the part of the port health authorities and H.M. Customs officers. Mr Brown, who lives at Sydney, is the general manager for Australia and New Zealand for the Matson Navigation Company. He was a passenger on the Malolo from Australia to New Zealand and was on board when the ship was going through pmt’que formalities at Wellington. Through the New Zealand agents for Messrs Burns, Philp and Company it was learned to-day that Air Brown had commented on th'' minimum delay with which the vefyie. had been berthed. The Customs and Health officers’ procedure was all that could be desired, he said, and considering the conditions berthing was carried out with minimum delay having regard to the safety of the ship and the wharf.
