Interviewed, ho said that of 197 mounts he rode 42 winners for Baron Oppenheim in Germany, including the German Derby winner. REDUCTION IN STAKES Received Dec. 2, 10.50 p.m. MELBOURNE, Dec. 2. The Victoria Racing Club has reduced the stakes for the New Year’s Day meeting by £llOO. NOTES AND COMMENTS (By “Kestrel.”) The Taumarunui meeting will be held on Saturday and Monday and the Woodville fixture on December 9 and 10. Woodville Acceptances. Owners and trainers are reminded that acceptances close on Friday at 9 p.m. for the Woodville District Jockey Club’s opening day events.

Auckland Nominations. General entries for the Auckland Racing Club’s summer meeting are due with the secretary, Auckland, on. Friday at 5 p.m.

Taranaki Meeting. The Taranaki Jockey Club’s Christmas meeting will be held on December 26 and 27. Nominations for all events close on Friday next. Woodville Meeting.

Advice from the secretary of the Woodville Club is to the effect that Cluny was handicapped at 7.3 in the Bolton Handicap, while All Humbug (7.8) was omitted from the Nursery Handicap. Owing to the indisposition of Mr C. O’Connor, Mr E. Connop will carry out the duties of starter at the Woodville meeting.
