DAMAGES AWARDED
CASE AGAINST MARKY FILMS. [ Per Press Association. ) HAMILTON, Dec. 2. Judgment for plaintiff was entered in an action for £5OO damages brought in the Hamilton Supreme Court to-day before Mr Justice Herdman by Edwin Coubray, cinema cameraman, against Alexander Marky, film producer, and managing director of Alarky Films, Ltd., New Zealand, for malicious persecution.
The action arose out of Alarky issuing a search warrant against plaintiff and submitting his person and luggage to search, Marky having entertained suspicions that Coubray was posting away some copies of a film, the properly of Marky Films.
His Honour hold that plaintiff had proved his ease, but said that damages in such a cqso 'could only bo nominal, as plaintiff, to some extent, had precipitated tho whole thing. Plaintiff was awarded- £lO with 20 guinea? tests and disbursements
