CONVERSION LOAN. A GOOD RESPONSE. SYDNEY, Dec. 2. The conversion loan is being rapidly taken up. The subscriptions are now £5,552,920. The conversions were £2,916,880 and the cash subscriptions £2,630,040.
INFLATION OF CURRENCY. AIR FENTON’S STATEMENT. MELBOURNE, Dec. 2. Notwithstanding the known hostility of members of the Commonwealth Bank Board to the plans for inflation of the currency of the Commonwealth advanced by Federal Ministers at tho conference between tho Ministry and the Board, Air Fenton said that the Board had agreed to consider the various proposals and a further conference was being held to-day.
