It transpires that Air Montagu No: man (Governor of tho Bank of Ens land), who made a hurried transfv from the liner Bremen to the liner Ah jestic at Cherbourg on Saturday an hurried back to London, had no intci tion of going to America. He was anxious .to have a farewe talk with Air Harrison (Governor of th United States Federal Reserve system who was sailing by the Bremen, and dr cided to accompany him to Cherbourg He transferred to the Majestic aceor* ing to schedule.
A message received on Sunday referred to Air Norman’s movements in terms that suggested an emergency situation. It was said that he had been recalled by wireless.
