WEATHER FORECAST
General situation. —A depression is passing east of the Dominion and is being followed by an intense anti-cyclone from the Tasman Sea. Forecast. —Winds: Moderate to strong westerly, backing shortly to southerlies from Canterbury northwards, elsewhere strong southerlies. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rather rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits and rising south of Castle Point, elsewhere moderate. Tasman Sea: Moderate to fresh southerly winds ami rather rough seas in the eastern Tasman Sea Weather; Cloudy and unsettled with showers at times in most districts Hail and thunder at places Temperatures becoming cold.
