POTATO-PEELING MACHINE [Special to "Chronicle."] AUCKLAND, Nov. 19Putting through 4001bs of potatoes in an hour, 281bs of carrots in four minutes and 121bs of onions in 25 seconds, an electric potato-peeling machine is doing excellent work in the Auckland Hospital nurses’ kitchen. It was built in the Hospital Board’s engineers’ workshop at a cost (for new materials) of £3 10s as against the quoted amount of £GS for an imported machine. The annual recurring saving as against hand work, is estimated at £B5.
