WANGANUI CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING HELD. ELECTION- OF OFFICERS. In spite of the inclement weather conditions last night there was a fair attendance of members of the Wanganui Trotting Club at tho annual meeting, the president, Mr L. Cohen, chairman. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs G. Spriggens and G. C. Glenn. On the motion of Mr Cohen, the annual report, already published, was adopte'l and the balance-sheet approved. A loss of £152 10s 2d was shown on the year’s working, said Air Cohen, but that was a position which had to be faced with courage and the future should be viewed with quiet optimism. When they saw the clubs which raced at Addington and Alexandra Pari? showing decreases running well into five figures, it must be expected that a similar experience would be recorded bv the smaller clubs.

The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Air A. G. Bignell; president, Air L. Cohen; vice-presidents Messrs W. R. Tuck, G. C. Glenn and j. R. Foster; hon. treasurer, AL- H. Hague Smith; auditor, Mr R. Robson. Four committee members, Alessrs E. Lucena, F. W. Sear’e, F. K. Turnbull, and 11. S. Alacey, retired in accordance witii the rules, and Afcssrs Searle and Alacey intimated that they could not see thenway clear to seek re-election. Afcssrs Lucena and Turnbull were re-elected and Alpputs A. H. Coe and W. R. Tul lock were elected, to the vacancies in tho committee.
