TWO HUNDRED YEARS AGO A gang of Swiss workmen who wrre excavating for a new road on the Saleve Mountain, ovenooxing Geneva, discovered a few weeks ago, at tho depth of a few foot, the skeleton of a woman, with a steel dagger linnly wedged between the ribs. Scattered beside the body were a number of Swiss gout corns, bearing the date 17.10, and also some valuable pearls, which, it is thought, one® formed the dead woman's necklace.
The opinion was expressed at the inquest thq| the woman died at about the date marked on tho coins. The verdict solemnly adder! mat there was nothing to show whether it was murder or suicide that was committed on the mountainside a couple of centuries ago.
