RAPANUI CLUB PAIRS COMPETITIONS RESUME Members of the Rapanui Bowling Club are requested to attend at the green to-day, weather permitting, as the pairs competition will be resumed.
KEESING CUP MATCH
PLAY AT ST. JOHN’S GREEN HOLDERS RETAIN TROPHY The first game of the season for the Kecsing Cup was played on the St. John’s green yesterday, Gonvillo being the. challengers. The teams were as follows: Gonville: Gordon, Kirk, Steel and Corby (skip), St. John’s: Rowling, Upton, Parkes, and Benefield (skip). Gonville ran away with a lead of 8 to lon the fourth head, St. John’s pulling up to Bto Gonvillo’s 10 on the 10th head. The challengers then scored four successive heads, leading 16 to 9. Three singles to St. John’s was followed by a single to Gonville on the 18th head, the latter thus leading 17 to 12. St. Join’s scored 1. 3 and 2 on the last three heads, thus retaining possession of the cup by 18 to 1* The game was a gooa one, with Gonville rather unlucky to Jose, their opponents never being in tront until the last head.
