£550 FOR BOOKS OF FORTY EIGHT LEAVES
A little volume of forty-eight leaves. “Chastising of God’s Children,” printed by Wynkyn de YVorde in .1492, realised £550 at Sot herby’s recently. The book was saved from the recent fire at Lulworth Castle, and was the chief item amongst 200 volumes from the same source. It was from Lulworth Castle that the famous Luttrell Psalter and Book of Hours, sold last summer for £63,000 came.
