MARTON

ST. FRANCIS CHURCH. FANCY DRESS BALL. There was a large attendance at the Marton Convent School’s fancy dress ball on Thurday evening. Prizes were awarded on the conclusion of the grand march by Rev. Father Lynch to the following:—Best girl, Patsy Oates; most original girl, Pamela Houston; best boy, Pat Watts; most original boy, Ray Webby. A special prize was awarded to Lydia Scott. Thanks are due to Mesdames Neumann and Ensom for acting as judges whose task was not an easy one, but their judging results were well received, Mrs Stevens (who supplied the music), and Miss Barker for superintending the children’s dancing.
