ANOTHER FLIGHT BEGUN
CHAMBERLAIN’S “COLUMBIA”. [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright] Received Sept. 14, 7.42 p.m. OTTAWA, Sept. 13. A message from St. Hubert (Quebec) states that Captain Erroll Boyd (Canadian), with Lieutenant Harry Connor (United States) as navigator, hopped off on Saturday morning for Harbour Grace cn route to England in Chamberlain’s trans-Atlantic x aeroplane “Columbia.”
BROMLEY’S FLIGHT TOKYO TO AMERICA. Received Sept. 14. 7.45 pm. TOKIO, Sept. 14. Bromley started at 5.10 this morning in a flight for America. The w'eather was perfect with a slightly -westerly breeze. WEATHER FORECAST. ADVANTAGEOUS TAIL WINDS. Received Sept. 14, 5.5 p.m. NEW YORK, Sept. 13. A San Francisco message states the United States Weather Bureau informed Bromley that good flying conditions would probably prevail over the northern Pacific for the latter portion of the flight. The Bureau repose! conditions from Aleutians to Tacoma as unsettled for the next three days. Winds will be strong from the west at 40 to 50 miles an hour at high flying altitudes. The forecasters said that by taking advantage of such conditions Bromley will have advantageous tail winds and low clouds. 350 MILES AWAY. Received Sept. 14, 11.15 p.m. SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 13. Four hours? after the departure of Bromley a wireless message received at Tokio from the ’plane indicated that the machine had passed over Hokkaidoisland, 350 miles from Tokio. AT CHARLOTTE TOWN. Received Sept. 14 6.50 p.m. VANCOUVER, Sept. 13. The ’plane “Columbia” landed at Charlotte Town on Saturday because of the strong head winds and other adverse flying conditions. They hop off on Sunday for Harbour Grace.
