EYRE DEADS THE FIELD Received Sept. 14, 5.5 p.m. MELBOURNE, Sept. 14. Following is the result of the Victorian open golf championship:— F. Eyre (New South'Walcs 76, 77, 75, 78—306. C. H. Fawcett (Ncrt South Wales) 79, 76, 81, 77—313. Rufus Stewart (South Australia) 84, 73, 77, 79—313. A- Russell (Victoria) —315. L. Nettlefold (Tasmania) —315. The feature Qf the last round was Ncttlefold’s crash after leading with Eyre at the beginning (18 holes). He went to pieces at the crucial stage and took 87 to get round or nine more than Eyre, who finished with seven strokes to spare- The wind was sometimes of gale force and a cold rain drenched the players.
