STUDIO DANCE.

Multi-coloured streamers and balloons, palms and ferns were effectively arranged in the Dance Studio of the Misses Wright on. Thursday evening, the occasion being a dance given by the junior pupils for the senior pupils. During the evening the juniors competed for the ballroom dancing championship. This event created a great dea> of interest, many junior pupils taking part. Two ladies and two gentlemen were the judges and their task was not an easy one. The awards were as follows: —Mr Roy Jack and Miss Gilroy, Mr Frank Drew and Miss Madeline Smith tied for first place, Miss Morda Peek and Mr lan Bassett were second. Miss E. Wright and Mr G. McDougall gave an exhibition of the latest waltz, which was much appreciated by the dancers. An enjoyable programme of dance numbers was contributed by Stone’s Orchestra and a delicious supper was served. The chaperons for the evening were Mrs E. Walpole, wearing black floral satin beaute, patterned with autumn shaded flowers and blue chenille bridge coat; Mrs Nicholls wore royale blue gebrgette; Mrs C. A. Bullivant, polka dotted black net and black panno velvet wrap; Miss N. Wright wore a frock of pastel shaded tulle with irredescent sequined corsage and silver and blue brocade bridge coat; Miss E. Wright’s froek was of cascades of tinted silk net, sprinkled with crystal beads, the skirt dipping at the bacx, pink and gold tissue bodice and silver lame coatee.

Gilroy, ivory chantilly lace over dawn pink silk; Miss H. McGuire, frilled frock of pale maize net and satin; Miss K. Mackay, pale gold lace with bow and spray of cherry. Miss A. Kearse, frilled frock of primrose taffeta patterned with poppies; Miss J. Sunderland, moonlight blue and rose chenille velvet, frilled hem of blue tulle; Miss J. Spurdie, sky blue taffeta, patterned with flowers of deeper blue and red velvet bow; Miss N. White, powder blue floral georgette, diamente belt; Miss Ann Paterson, lemon georgette frilled frock; Miss Joan Bullivant, green crepe de chine, velvet coatee; Mies Peggy Vercoe, green lace with tulle bow; Miss Dot Drew, floral georgette, grey velvet wrap; Miss Hate Hoar, rea georgette, cream satin bridge coat; Miss M. Smith, white georgette and silver; Miss N. Burns, blusn pink floral satin; Miss Z.
