EXPENSES INVOLVED FIRST OUTING AT GLAMIS LONDON, Sept. 2. When the Duchess of York set her heart on G.amis Castle as the birthplace of the new Princess it necessitated al] sorts of special arrangements and involved extra cost totalling over £5OOO.

For instance, the baptismal fee to be paid to the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Cosmo Lang, alone will be £5OO. Two other clergymen who will assist. iq performing that ceremony will receive £5O each. The usual fee of Sir Henry Simson, the Duchess’ physician, for a maternity case in London is 200 guineas. He received 20 guineas a day in Scotland.
