A Wedding in Blighty

39 Harcourt Road, Swindon. Wilts. August 7, 1930.

Dear Wendy and "Old Gran,” —I feel I must write again to you both, for it really keeps me young in living with apd doing for the young people as well as others, and at present I have a very lively young person from Blackpool, my grand-daughter; she is eight years old and full of fun and mischief. She came to be bridesmaid to the bride of her uncle Joe. She looks very sweet in blue and pink crepe de chene and blue painted shoes. The bridesmaids wore blue :nd the bride was in white satin and shoes. Frances held the bride’s long veil in one hand and carried a basket of ping peas in the other; there were 50 guests who sat down, including four ministers. One *was the bride's brother, the Rev. Cecil Haskins. The weather was very kind that day as we have been having a deal of wet weather of late. While America is so much in want just now, our country looks fine. Flowers, fruit and vegetables there are in abundance, for which we are all very grateful. Weil, Wendy and “Old Gran,” please excuse pencil of my grand-daughter as she wanted to write to Wendy as well as “Gran.” Fred joins with me in wishing the best of luck to all at the Wendy Hut. With best wishes for the future.—Yours, “ENGLISH BOY’S MOTHER." P.S.—"English Boy” was 18 years on June G last and sends best wishes to you, Wendy.—“E.B.M.” How pleased I am, dear friend, to have your welcome letter this week. I how you fared of late. How lovely to have your little grand-daughter staying with ya* for the wedding. How beautiful the bride must have appeared in her bridal robes. Will you please give my kindest regards and best wishes to my "English Boy” and accept same yourself? Love.—Wendy.
