BURIAL OF A CHILD, WITHOUT DEATH CERTIFICATE. [ Per Frees Association. ] HAMILTON, Sept. 2. The burial of a child of ten months, who had died under an anaesthetic at the Waikato Hospital, before the inquest opened, was characterised by the Coroner, Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., at Hamilton to-day as a very grave matter that might be fraught with very grave conscqcenccs. The child, Athol Jacobs, was admitted suffering from an intestinal obstruction necessitating an immediate operationo. The child was in an exhausted condition and died before the operation .commenced. The police were commun cated with and an inquest arranged lor. Shortly after, however the undertaker called and removed the body from the mortuary. The child was buried without a death certificate. The body had to be exhumed for post mortem examination. The verdict, in accordance with the medical evidence, was returned.
