Yeulow Dahlias, Chrysanthemums and autumn-tinted foliage outlined the chancel of St. John the Baptist’s Church, Hunterville, on April 22, when Audrey Melicent, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs C. A. Long was married to Robert Thomas Norman, younger son of Mr and Mrs W. Fergusson, Hunterville. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. F. C. Long, uncle of the bride, assisted by the Rev. C. R. Kreeft. The bride, w’. > was given away by her father, wore a lovely bridal, gown of white georgette and satin; white satin roses and tucks formed the waist line, while scalloped satin frills fell in flares to ankle length. A beautifully embroidered veil was held in place by a chaplet of orange blossoms. The bride carried an inverted sheaf of white chrysanthemums veiled in maiden hair. Her only ornament was a double string of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. The bride’s attendants were Misses M. Long (chief) sister of the bride, W. Ingle (Marton), W. Peacock (niece of the bridegroom) who were attired in primrose georgette, ankle length, felt hats, and shoes to tone, the chief bridesmaid wearing a shade darker. All carried Victorian posies of autumn tints and wore gold armlets, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr W. Fergusson, brother, carried out the duties of best man, while Mr C. Long, brother of the bride, and Mr L. McLean, nephew of the bridegroom, made efficient groomsmen. Mrs CzA. Long, mother of the bride wore floral georgette with hat and coat to tone and carried an autumn tinted posy. Mrs W. Fergusson, mother of the bridegroom, wore a fur coat, black hat and carried a posy of red dahlias and autumn leaves. After the ceremony a reception was held at “Awataha,” the residence of the bride’s parents.
