FINANCING IMPROVEMENTS
STATEMENT BY MINISTER
[ Per Press Association. 1 WELLINGTON, April 27. A statement by the Minister of Pub lie Works, the Hon. E. A. Ransom, at Stratford, regarding the financing of improvements on undeveloped Crown lands, has aroused a good deal of interest. The Minister said that one questioi raised is the possibility of competition against th <5 existing facilities ol the State Advances Department, “The two methods,” the Minister explained, “do not conflict. The scheme does not contemplate the making of advances in respect to improvements already carried out, but it is intended to encourage the bringing into productivity of undeveloped land.”
