FIREWORKS EXPLOSION
TEN PEOPLE KILLED DISASTER AT PHILADELPHIA NEW YORK, April 3. At Philadelphia, stored fireworks exploded prematurely. A series of crashes were heard 30 miles away. Ten people were killed and 100 injured. As blast followed blast so heavily, motor cars were swept off the roads, a moving train rocked, thousands of windows in an area of several square miles were smashed, pedestrians were whirled off their feet and several of the victims were blown to pieces.
