WEATHER FORECAST
General situation. —The anti-cyclone to the eastward is at last moving rapidly away. A shallow depression is advancing on to the Dominion and a new and intense anti-cyclone is now centred over Tasmania. Forecast. —Winds: Northerly, freshening somewhat and backing tu southerly soon in the south and over the remainder of the Dominion within 24 hours. Seas (N.Z. waters): A considerable swell on the cast coast, but otherwise smooth to moderate. Tasman Sea: Winds becoming southerly and moderate to fresh in the eastern Tasman Sea with generally moderate seas. Weather: Mainly fair, but clouds increasing and scattered showers developing in most districts, but more especially ovo- the South Island. Temperatures becoming cooler and indicacions of af a further period of fine weatrer following.
